Botox
Wrinkles are caused by contractions of the delicate underlying facial muscles every time you smile, laugh or frown. While you may have earned every one of your smile lines, you don't have to show them anymore. Now, thanks to a new use for BOTOX ®, wrinkles can be dramatically softened. The procedure known as cosmetic denervation uses BOTOX® injections to improve the appearance of forehead worry lines and frown lines, eye laugh lines and crow's feet or other dynamic wrinkles.
BOTOX® blocks impulses from the nerve to the tiny facial muscles that are related to expression lines. BOTOX® relaxes the muscles so they do not contract. The contraction of the muscle is the culprit causing the wrinkles. After treatment, the overlying skin remains smooth and unwrinkled. Meanwhile the untreated facial muscles contract in a normally allowing normal facial expression. There is no numbness in the area of injection since it does not affect nerves that provide sensation.
BOTOX® injections have been used safely and effectively since the 1980's and have been clinically proven to be safe. Each year, thousands of clients receive BOTOX® treatments for a variety of conditions including excessive sweating, crossed eyes, gummy smile and it is now quickly becoming a popular treatment to reverse the visible signs of aging. BOTOX® injections are also a safe and effective treatment for axillary and palmar hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating of the armpit and palms) and night grinders. The effect of BOTOX® on excessive sweating typically lasts longer than for wrinkles (9-12 months).

How is it administered?
We use the smallest needle available outside of a hospital, a very small amount of BOTOX® is injected into precise locations on the face. There is very little pain (most people say it is like a bug bite). Anesthesia is not required, and you can resume normal activities immediately! Some clients experience a slight temporary bruising at the injection site which can easily be covered with make-up.
You should NOT rub the injection site for two hours after the injection, after which, there are no restrictions at all.
Muscles treated with BOTOX® usually start to relax within a few days, and maximum relaxation can be seen within two weeks. About 3-4 months after the first treatment, the effects gradually wear off. During this time you may want to come in for another treatment. Common areas of treatment include forehead lines, brow lines and outer aspects of the eyes (crow's feet), the neck, down turned lips, gummy smile, sweaty hands and axilla (arm-pit).
If you have a second treatment before the treated muscles have returned to their old habits, your second treatment will usually last longer. If you continue to come for treatments, you will generally find that the effects last longer with each treatment.
