Cosmelan and Melasma

Dark spots on the skin can be due to a hereditary condition called melasma. They can also be do to Chloasma, increases in skin pigmentation due to pregnancy. These dark spots can get even darker when sun exposure is increased. Cosmelan is available to help correct these dark blemishes.

The treatment:

The first stage of the treatment will be done at the spa. Your skin will be thoroughly cleansed. Cosmelan 1 cream will be applied to your skin. The time required for the cream's application will be determined by the physician, and this is based on your skin type and the degree of pigmentation.

The depigmentation treatment is then followed by the Cosmelan 2 cream, which is applied at home. This compliments the initial depigmenting treatment. Then you will apply the Cosmelan 2 cream to the effected area three times a day during the first week, twice a day during the second week and once a day after the third week.

The results:

One week after treatment a significant improvement is seen. You can see a reduction in the blemish with the appearance of luminous rejuvenated skin.

In Cosmelan Studies, in 99% of hyperpigmentation cases, the blemish disappearance process reached 95% efficacy.
At the end of the Cosmelan depigmentation treatment you will notice a dramatic difference in the pigmentation of your skin, texture and pore size.

Before Treatment and after:

• Please advise us if you have had any other treatment in the past. If you have had a peel in the past week, we must wait a week before initiating treatment.
• You can preserve the results of your treatment for a year and longer if you maintain the sunscreen regimen that your physician prescribes.
• Do not stop using the at home treatments at any time. These treatments protect your skin from the darkening effects of the sun and continue to renew the surface of your skin
• You will be going home with the cosmelan 1 cream, for a period of time prescribed by our Doctor. This may give the skin a more mustard tint, as if wearing sheer foundation. We recommend that you don’t schedule a major dinner party afterwards.
• Always apply the Hydra Factor K Cream 15 minutes after application of Cosmelan 2 Cream.
• Although you will notice a marked improvement of the blemishes after the first week, should use the cosmelan 2 cream for at least three months after the treatment and after each sun exposure. It contains sun protective agents as well as bleaching agents to maintain the skins clarity.
