Sofia Rubbani, MD, uses the Beau Visage skin analysis system at her Roslyn Heights, New York, Glow MediSpa. "I am able to show patients the percentage improvement in their skin from their original evaluation. This is especially helpful in the case of topical treatments because the change is so gradual, many patients say that they don't see any results. When I show them, they are so happy to see it, and knowing there has been progress motivates them to continue the regimen."

Using the product database in her Beau Visage Treatment Manager, Dr. Rubbani creates custom treatment plans for each individual. "I think it is so helpful to hand the patient a clearly printed report that lists my recommendations," she says. "The report explains the recommended treatment or product, and next to it is an image that highlights where the problem is. It relieves the patient of needing to remember everything I've told her during a consult."

Another feature Dr. Rubbani uses frequently in her evaluations is the skin age comparison. Using the captured image, she highlights an area of the patient's skin, the nose for example, and using a comparative database, the software analyzes the age of that area of skin. "Patients are excited to know the actual age of their skin. It's a surprise for a 30-something to find out that sun damage has left them with the nose of a 50 year old! Then, of course, they want to know what they can do to fix it," she explains.
